MacMahon Wins Australian Contract

24 August 2010

MacMahon Holdings has been awarded a contract to install a rail line for Gindalbie Metals's Karara iron ore project.

Under the $86m contract, the Australia-based contract mining company will be responsible for the rail earthworks and track laying.

The 85km line will link the mine to Tilley Siding near Morawa, about 225km south-east of Geraldton.

Macmahon's subsidiary, MVM Rail, will handle components of the contract, including tracklaying.

Gindalbie said its project partner, China-based Ansteel, will supply the track.
