TranSys Completes Transition of Smartcard System Contract

Transaction Systems (TranSys) has transitioned its service and contractual obligations for the Oyster smartcard system in London, UK, to Cubic Transportation Systems, according to existing agreements.

TranSys has been working with Transport for London (TfL) for the smartcard ticketing system.

TfL said have about seven million smartcards are in regular use and about 57 million journeys use Oyster each week.

Cubic Transportation will continue to deliver Oyster services to TfL while TranSys will continue to retain advertising rights on ticket gatelines and ticketing media until March 2015.
