A Leighton Asia joint venture has won a A$409m ($369m) contract to build tunnel sections on the Guangzhou – Shenzhen – Hong Kong Express rail link (XRL) in China.
The project includes the construction of a 31m-wide West Kowloon Terminus approach tunnel and a 121m-wide track fan tunnel.
Other works include the construction of a 300m road underpass and two footbridges.
Work will start this month and is expected to be completed by 2015.
This is the second XRL project won by Australia-based Leighton Asia, after a A$463m ($418m) contract in March this year.
