London Underground Plans Next Phase of Jubilee Upgrade

16 August 2010

The UK's London Underground has unveiled plans for the next phase of the Jubilee line upgrade following the acquisition of Tube Lines in June this year.

The upgrade will involve the installation of a signalling system, which will be tested over the next month.

To enable the full end-to-end system testing, the line will be closed for one week in October, November and December.

On completion of the upgrade in 2011, the line will have a 33% increase in capacity, while journey times will be reduced by 22%.
