16 August 2010

The US city of Philadelphia has received $9m in funding for the redevelopment of the Ardmore rail station under the state's capital programme.

The $180m multi-phase project will be a transit-oriented development that will include a newly developed train station.

The station plan will also include about 125 residences, 20,000ft² of retail and restaurant space and 5,000ft² of office space.

The project will be delivered by Philadelphia-based developer Dranoff Properties.

Work on the site is expected to begin by 2012, according to bizjournals.com.
