US Agencies Seek Funds for Light Rail Expansion

The Colorado Regional Transportation District (RTD) and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) in the US are seeking a $123m federal grant to extend a light rail project in the state.

The funds will be used to extend light rail services 1.5 miles along I-225 and to widen three miles of I-225 from Parker to East Mississippi Avenue.

>The project is estimated at $157m, while RTD and CDOT will provide $33.7m in matching funds if their funding request is granted, according to denverpost.com.
