Australia's Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) has postponed a four-hour strike on 12 August after negotiations with RailCorp and the New South Wales State Government.
The rail workers have demanded a 5% pay rise and were against RailCorp's job cuts, according to the Herald Sun.
RTBU secretary Alex Claassens said they have an offer which has yet to be discussed to reach a deal.
However, a 24-hour strike will be in place on 20 August, the day before the federal election.
On 9 August, union members refused to sell tickets across the CityRail network under the union's industrial campaign, costing RailCorp about $2m in lost fares.
