Irish railway operator Iarnród Éireann has revealed that four consortia have submitted bids for the prequalification phase of the underground DART connector project in Dublin, Ireland.
The consortia for the €2.5bn ($3.29bn) contract include BBI Consortium, City Connect Consortium, NascRail Consortium and Toto Consortium, according to rte.ie.
The winning consortium, expected to be announced in 2012, will construct, finance and maintain the stations and associated facilities for between 25 and 35 years.
The 7.6km DART underground will link all rail systems into an integrated and cohesive network, consisting of the DART, Commuter, Intercity, Luas and Metro lines.
The line will have a capacity for up to 20 trains in each direction per hour, allowing up to 64,000 commuters to use the line hourly.
The line is expected to be operational by 2018.
