Construction Begins on Underground Station in China

Construction work has begun on the underground station of the rail transit line in South Hefei Station, China.

The project involves building transit platforms for Lines 1, 4 and 5.

Work on the line, built under South Hefei Station, is scheduled to take about eight months, according to cnanhui.org.

Lines 1 and 5 will share the same transit platforms, forming a T-shape with the transit platforms of Line 4, which are the deepest part of the underground station at a depth of 34.4m.

The other two lines are 26.8m below the ground.
