Faiveley Transport Subsidiary, Amsted Rail Form Joint Rail Company

04 August 2010

Faiveley Transport's US subsidiary Ellcon National and Amsted Rail have formed a joint subsidiary to market freight rail brakes.

Faiveley Transport will have majority ownership in the joint venture, which is intended to enable freight car manufacturers to access a range of components and undercarriage equipment systems.

It will also provide technical solutions to improve the performance of trains and increase savings during the life cycle of rolling stock, according to Faiveley Transport.

Amsted Rail president John Wories said Ellcon National’s existing brake components portfolio will be integrated with Amsted Rail’s extensive undercarriage systems.

The new company, based in the US, is scheduled to be fully operational on 1 October 2010.
