Metrolinx Gets Ontario Rail Contract

04 August 2010

Metrolinx will construct, own and operate a rail link between Union Station and Pearson International Airport in Ontario, Canada.

It is estimated that the transportation agency, responsible for the Toronto and Hamilton area, can build the line for $300m.

The Union-Pearson rail link will connect the two stations in 25 minutes and is scheduled to be completed before the Pan Am Games in 2015.

The rail deal was originally awarded to Canada-based construction firm SNC-Lavalin seven years ago, according to 680news.com.
