Deutsche Bahn's 2010 Revenues Increase

Deutsche Bahn's (DB) revenues in the first half of 2010 rose by 12.8% to €16.1bn ($21bn) compared with the same period in 2009.

The company's adjusted results from operations also rose comparatively by 26% to €846m ($1.1bn).

DB said its net debt was further reduced by €151m ($197m) to €14.9bn ($19.5bn) during the first half of 2010.

The number of passengers travelling in DB's trains and buses increased by 13.3 million to 1.36 billion, while the rail passenger transport segment declined by 0.4% to 954 million recorded passengers.

Rail freight volume rose by 58 million tons to 203 million tons.

The company will install signage units at 2,800 locations in stations across Germany under a €21m ($27m) investment.
