Australian Government to Fund Moreton Bay Rail Link

29 July 2010

The Australian Government will provide A$742m (US$667m) to build the A$1.15bn (US$1bn) Moreton Bay rail link connecting Petrie to Kippa-Ring in south-east Queensland.

The government is planning to complete the construction of the 12.6km rail line by 2016, according to heraldsun.com.au.

The rail link includes six stations and is intended to ease congestion by reducing journey time by 15min.
