Bombardier and CSR Sifang Rolling Stock's joint venture has won an order for 40 CRH1 high-speed train sets from the Chinese Ministry of Railways for CNY5.2bn ($761m).
Bombardier's share of the contract is valued at around CNY2.5bn ($373m), according to the company.
The sets consist of eight cars, which are capable of transporting 604 passengers at a top speed of 250km/h.
The joint-venture company, Bombardier Sifang Transportation, will deliver the sets between September 2010 and May 2011.
