Russian Railways has announced that the construction of a rail line between Adler and Sochi Airport will be completed in 2012.

The line will ensure high-speed transport for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games at Sochi, according to Russian Railways.

It is estimated that the intermodal line will carry over 86,000 people a day, or up to 60% of all air passengers travelling to the Olympics.

Preparation work has been completed while construction and assembly work are expected to be ahead of schedule.
