Canadian Province Seeks Bidders for Rail Line Project

The Canadian province of British Columbia is seeking bidders to design, build and finance its C$1.4bn ($1.3bn) Evergreen Line project.

The project involves the construction of a rapid transit line between Coquitlam and Vancouver via Port Moody and Burnaby.

Work on the 11km line is scheduled to begin by the end of the year and will be complete in 2014, according to Daily Commercial News.

The project is funded by the federal and provincial governments, each contributing about C$400m.
