Granite Construction Wins California Rail Contract

Granite Construction has received a $78m contract from Caltrain for a rail project ten miles south of San Francisco in California, US.

The project involves elevating Caltrain's two mainline rails from South Linden Avenue to Scott Street.

Work will also include building a new San Bruno station, rebuilding surface streets, a new pump station and installing signalisation and communication systems.

The project will begin in October and is scheduled to be complete by 2012.
