Turkish Metro Line to Open in 2011

The Bus Terminal-Basaksehir-Olympic Village metro line in Istanbul, Turkey, will be operational by 2011.

Testing on the 21.7km metro line, which will cost an estimated $1.1bn, will begin this year, according to hurriyetdailynews.com.

Once operational, the rail line will transport 36,000 people an hour.

The line will start at Turkey's main bus terminal and continue through its Bagcilar district, past the AtatГјrk Olympic Stadium, to the fourth stage of the Basak Housing Units.
