Alstom Receives New York City Transit Contract

12 July 2010

Alstom has received a contract from LK Comstock to design and supply interlocking and signalling equipment for New York City Transit (NYCT) on its subway Flushing Line in the US.

The €33m ($42m) project is expected to cover the renovation and modification of signalling to allow NYCT to operate with a communication-based train control system.

Alstom said the project is expected to be completed over six-and-a-half years.

The contract is part of a programme to increase the line's capacity, improve headway and enhance safety, according to the rail company.
