Danish State Railway Selects Nokia Siemens Rail Tool

06 July 2010

Denmark's state-owned railway infrastructure enterprise, Banedanmark, has selected Nokia Siemens Networks' (NSN) technology to standardise railway safety communications across the European Union (EU).

NSN's GSM-Railway technology is expected to be used to ensure interoperability with railways in Sweden and Germany, and increase the speed, capacity and security of Denmark's train operations.

The company also expects to deliver GSM-R switches, base stations, registers, an intelligent network system, a short message service centre, dispatcher terminals and voice recording equipment.

Under the turnkey agreement, the Finland-based company will also provide a broad range of services including network design, project management, network implementation and maintenance.
