UK's Tyne River Tunnel to Open in 2011

A road tunnel under the River Tyne in the UK will open to traffic in February 2011.

The Tyne Tunnel, built at a cost of ВЈ260m ($391m), will connect north and south Tyneside in north-east England, according to news.bbc.co.uk.

The 43-year-old existing tunnel is believed to have carried more than 11 million vehicles a year.
