The UK Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) has launched a new traffic signal co-ordination technology to provide effective process-driven analysis tools to traffic professionals.
The Transyt 14 software is expected to have specific functionality, enabling users to easily assess an isolated signal-controlled junction.
Some of the tool's benefits include the way that information is stored in Transyt 14, indirect traffic control and the effect of platoons of network traffic on unsignalled junctions.
The software can be obtained in the traditional link structure or the new lane and traffic stream version.
The new lane version is expected to allow the reduction of the number of connections needed and create one Transyt lane.
The new technology is also expected to allow customers to view the data in simulated annealing rather than the original hill climb.
