Evraz Group Starts Work to Increase Production for Russia

Nizhniy Tagil Iron and Steel Works (NTMK) has begun the reconstruction of its railway production facility in Russia.

NTMK will invest RUB2bn ($63m) for the work, which includes the installation of new equipment.

The reconstruction is expected to allow NTMK to produce 25m bulk quenched rails with high surface finish for Russian Railways (RZhD).

It will raise NTMK's rail supplies for export and increase its annual rail production from 450,000t to 550,000t, according to news.alibaba.com.

NTMK is a subsidiary of the Russian steel producer Evraz Group.
