Alternate Concepts Wins Puerto Rican Subway Contract

Alternate Concepts (AC) has received a $250m contract with Tren Urbano, the Puerto Rican 11-mile subway system.

The US-based passenger rail service provider is expected to independently manage Tren Urbano's operations and maintenance until 2015, according to boston.com.

Tren Urbano, a passenger rail, is expected to serve metro-San Juan with 16 stations.

AC was initially expected to receive the contract to design, construct, operate and maintain the subway system as part of the Siemens Transit Team consortium.
