Arizona Light Rail Extension Delayed

04 June 2010

The light rail extension to the US city of Glendale, Arizona, has been delayed until 2026.

The governing board, Metro light rail, initially planned to open the line by 2017, according to azcentral.com.

The extension is intended to connect Glendale with Phoenix in Arizona.

Regional funding troubles due to the economic downturn are to blame for the delay, according to Glendale Mayor Elaine Scruggs.
