Chinese Train Derailment Death Toll Hits 19

At least 19 people have been killed and another 71 injured after landslides caused a train derailment in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangxi.

The train, travelling from Shanghai to the tourist city of Guilin in south China, derailed when it hit a section of track damaged by a landslide.

Around 2,000 rescue workers removed the train and 8,000m³ of mud and rocks from the site.

Nine out of 17 cars were derailed in the accident.

The Shanghai-Kunming railway line was closed following the incident.
