Two major South Africa transport unions have extended strikes, affecting rail services.
About two million train commuters were left stranded as rail workers for the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) ceased work following a strike call by unions, according to the BBC.
Nearly 12,000 members of the United Transport and Allied Trade Union and the South African Transport and Allied Workers Union are on strike over a pay dispute.
The unions are demanding a 16% pay hike for the workers, while Prasa is offering an 8% rise.
