NCC Construction Sweden has received a contract to expand a railway line in Sweden.

The 7.6km-long line will run between the cities of Velanda and Prässebo on the Norway/Vänerbanan line.

The line will be turned into a double-track railway with a speed limit of 250km/h.

The SEK203m ($27m) project is scheduled for completion in 2012.

The project is being delivered for the Swedish Transport Administration through BanaVäg i Väst and will also include the construction of five bridges.
