Réseau Ferré de France has awarded a contract to monitor the implementation of its GSM-R network.
A consortium of Systra, Bureau Veritas and Algoe received the five-year contract to provide expertise to ensure technical compliance of the network.
The contract involves the installation and operation of around 2,000 base stations, according to railwaygazette.com.
The base stations are expected to provide the GSM-R with 11,400km of the core network within five years.
The network is being rolled out under a €1bn ($1.3bn), 15-year PPP contract awarded to Synerail consortium.
