DB Schenker Rail, under a contract with Siemens, has started supplying 1,440 train bogies to China.
The bogies, manufactured in Austria, will be installed in high-speed passenger trains in China.
The German-based rail operator is expected to complete the delivery by August 2011, according to transportintelligence.com.
The vehicles will be transported by rail freight transportation services, which are expected to cut carbon dioxide emissions by up to 600t.
