Siemens to Deliver Class-407 Trains to DB by 2011

04 May 2010

Siemens will deliver its multi-system Velaro high-speed trains to German train operator Deutsche Bahn in 2011.

The Germany based company won the €500m ($659m) contract to assemble 15 of the fourth-generation trains in 2008.

Carrying up to 460 passengers, the eight-car Velaro-D trains can transport 30 more passengers than the class-406 ICE3 trains.

The trains are expected to begin operations on routes between Frankfurt and various cities in France from December 2011.
