Siemens Mobility to Build Rail Link in India

23 April 2010

Siemens Mobility has secured a deal to construct a metro line between Gurgaon Cyber City and Delhi.

The 6.1km line is expected to have six stations and four substations that are completely electrified.

Five aluminium three-car metro vehicles are expected to run on elevated tracks at an average speed of 30km/h.

The Germany-based company's signalling and automatic train control system is intended to shorten headway time to 90 seconds during peak hours and allow transportation of up to 30,000 passengers an hour.
