New UK Rail Booking Site Uses Fujitsu Services

21 April 2010

UK has launched a new online rail ticket booking site using Japan-based IT provider Fujitsu's Rail Information Booking Services (RIBS) to access central rail industry information.

The website, www.MyTrainTicket.co.uk, through RIBS gets information pertaining to national reservation systems and tickets, departure services including daily fares, and timetable updates.

Fujitsu's services are expected to aid web ticketing providers to improve the sales process and relationships with passengers.

It will also inform passengers about prices, ticket flexibility, travel time and on-train facilities such as WiFi and catering.

The website facilitates the national roll-out of mobile, self-print and smartcard tickets, made available on routes by train operators.

Passengers booking through the website are also expected to collect Airmiles to the tune of one Airmile for every ВЈ10 spent.
