Vietnam to Embrace Japanese Bullet Train Technology

Vietnam will construct a high-speed rail line worth $55.9bn using Japan's bullet train technology.

The railway will link Hanoi in the south and Ho Chin Minh City in the north, according to Reuters.

The construction of the rail line is scheduled to begin in 2012, with operations to commence by 2020.

Japanese companies such Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Corp have been backing the introduction of the technology.
