Alstom Gets French Tramway Maintenance Contract

09 April 2010

Alstom Transport has received a €93m ($124m) contract to maintain the French Reims tramway for a 30-year period.

The work involves the maintenance of rolling stock, fixed installations and technical support, and the management of spare-part stocks for the Citadis tramsets.

The company will also provide the maintenance of track and platforms, track installations, power supply and distribution equipment.

In addition, Alstom is offering a turnkey solution for the Reims tram project, involving the construction of rolling stock and all electromechanical systems.

The 18 Reims tramsets are expected to serve 23 stations and are scheduled to enter operation in April 2011.

The France-based multi-modal transport group Transdev subcontracted the work to Alstom.
