31 March 2010

Faiveley Transport will supply equipment for Bombardier Transportation's first 204 light rail vehicles for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) in Canada.

The French company is expected to provide a traditional light rail vehicle (LRV) brake system including electronic control, hydraulic power units and hydraulic calipers.

Hydraulic brake components, discs and magnetic track brakes will also be provided, according to railwayage.com.

Faiveley Transport said it will also supply the complete door system and provide electrically powered single and double sliding plug doors.

The equipment is expected to be delivered to Bombardier in December 2010 and January 2011.

The delivery of the first 204 LRVs to TTC is expected to begin in 2011.

TTC also has the option of increasing the order to 410 cars.
