JA Becker to Deliver Lifting Rigs to Wiener Linien

24 March 2010

JA Becker will supply 16 heavy lifting rigs to Austria-based Wiener Linien by 2013.

The steel-superstructure equipment can lift 12 different vehicle types including metro cars and trams.

The first lift is expected to be set up by the end of January 2011, according to railwaygazette.com.

Comprising seven frames, the 16 units use up to eight pairs of side-mounted jacks for body lifts.

According to the German company, the equipment has piston technology, originally designed for the bus and truck market, which can move horizontally and vertically.
