US firm Harsco's rail subsidiary will supply utility track vehicle (UTV) prime movers to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.
The UTVs will be used to power work trains for railway maintenance of way requirements including snow removal, repair and replacement of rail, and the supply of power for hydraulic and pneumatic tools.
In a deal worth $6m, the deliveries are scheduled to begin in January 2011 and run until the second quarter of the year.
