Singapore's Pteris Wins Taiwan's MRT Deal

02 February 2010

Singaporean firm Pteris Global will supply a baggage handling system and container handling system for Taiwan's Taoyuan International Airport City Access Mass Rapid Transit (MRT).

The system will provide a downtown baggage check-in service at Taipei's main station for airline passengers, located at the city centre and Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 2 Station.

The railway links Taoyuan International Airport with its surrounding transport hubs and covers 22 stations, including 15 elevated and seven underground, and two maintenance depots.

The SGD18m ($12.8m) contract includes the design, supply, manufacture, installation and commissioning of the full suite of the system, with work scheduled to finish in 2016.
