Tagmaster Chosen for Bombardier's Train Control

28 January 2010

Swedish firm TagMaster will supply its radio-frequency identification system for Bombardier's Cityflo 650 Communication-based Train Control system being built for a metro project in Asia.

The company will supply over 100 heavy-duty (HD) Readers and 800 HD Tags, exceeding SEK3.5m ($480,000) in value, to Bombardier for installation in 2010.

Equipped with accurate positioning software functionality, the readers will be mounted onboard the trains to provide train location and accurate positioning information to the train control system.

In addition, TagMaster's Field Programmable version of the HD Tag will allow Bombardier to programme the tag location information in the field.
