The Czech Republic has awarded a CZK18.7bn ($1.01bn) contract for a 6km western extension of Line A of capital city Prague's underground metro.
The extension will run from Dejvická to Motol and will have intermediate stations at Cerveny Vrch, VeleslavÃn and Petriny, according to railwaygazette.com.
The winning consortium includes Czech companies Metrostav and Hochtief CZ.
Work is expected to begin in March 2010 and finish in 2015–16.
The line will be further extended by 6.9km to BÃlá Hora, Dedina, Dlouhá MÃle, Staré Letiste and Prague's international airport after 2021.
