China TransInfo to Build Shanghai Transportation System

China TransInfo subsidiary China TransInfo Technology Corporation will design a management and transportation emergency response centre information system in the Minhang District of Shanghai.

Under the $3.9m (RMB26.6m) deal, the company will design the system to connect 23 Shanghai city government agencies to Minhang District's emergency response command centre.

The system will include a public transportation command and dispatch management system, hazardous chemical transportation vehicle management system, GIS application platforms and a disaster recovery storage system.

Work is expected to finish by September 2010.
