Pennsylvania Undertakes Railway Upgrades

The US state of Pennsylvania has announced that it will carry out rail projects in 31 counties using a $24.5m investment.

The rail projects, which include upgrades and capacity expansion, will be carried out by 39 freight rail companies.

Work will be funded by $15m from the state capital budget programme and $9.5m from the transport department's Rail Freight Assistance Programme.
