Polish city Poznan's Municipal Transport Company has awarded a €82.4m (PLN342m) contract to Solaris to supply 40 trams.

The trams will be used during the 2012 European Football Championship, which the city is hosting.

The 31.96m-long and 2.40m-wide 100% low-floor unidirectional trams, Solaris Tramino LF 32, will have a capacity of 229 passengers.

Each vehicle will have three wheel-set bogies, two of which will be powered.

The delivery of the first tram is scheduled for June 2011 and the remaining vehicles for March 2012.

The order includes depot equipment and service contracts.
