Cubic to Supply Germany's First Electronic Ticketing System

26 November 2009

Germany's Rhein Main Services (RMS) has selected Cubic to develop the country's first large-scale electronic ticketing system.

The ticketing system will cover the entire RMV region of Frankfurt and some 153 transport operators, covering an estimated 650 million journeys taken on public transport per year.

Cubic Deutschland will develop the initial stage and central core of the system, including an integrated back-office computer system. The company will also provide point-of-sale terminals as well as three years of operational services.

RMS has placed the order on behalf of the Transit Authority Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund, which along with its partners operates more than 3,300 buses as well as rail and tram stations.
