French Consortium to Build Vietnamese Light Rail

A French consortium involving Vinci Construction Grands Projets and LOHR Industrie has been selected to build the first light rail line in the Vietnamese city of Ho Chi Minh.

The project includes designing and building a 12km light rail network in the city covering 23 stations.

The project is expected to cost nearly €200m.

The contract will be signed by June 2010.
