Hamburg-Köln Express Established

A joint venture involving US-based Railroad Development, German operator Locomore Rail and British railway investor Michel Schabas has set up an intercity passenger rail service in Berlin.

The joint venture, to be known as the Hamburg-Köln Express, will launch three train services every day in each direction between Hamburg and Cologne.

The rail service will begin operations on 15 August 2010, the companies have announced.

The trains will serve Düsseldorf, Gelsenkirchen and Osnabrück among other locations, and will offer several classes of seating.
