Chinese firm Changchun Railway Vehicles has delivered its first set of the ordered high-speed trains to the Australian state of New South Wales.
The vehicles are part of the EDI 626 project agreed between the state government and the Chinese firm's parent company China CNR in 2006.
The stainless steel double-deck passenger rail coaches will be used throughout the state's capital city, Sydney.
The remainder of the fleet is scheduled to be delivered by 2013.
The vehicles are the first Chinese passenger rail coaches to enter service in a developed country, according to the company.
