South Korean firm Hyundai Rotem has rolled out the first of 84 electric trains for the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo.
The fleet will be used on the city's Gold line, Line No.4, when it enters operations in March 2010.
The vehicle forms part of the $160m 84-unit contract awarded by the line's concessionaire ViaQuatro.
The unmanned trains will run with six units in one car and are equipped with the company's main electric and propulsion devices.
The company is now looking to sell its newly developed KTX-II high-speed train for the 520km Rio de Janeiro-Sao Paulo-Campinas express line, as part of Brazil's plan to expand infrastructure ahead of the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games.
