A consortium led by UK firm Invensys Rail has won a €280m contract in Brazil to upgrade the signalling and train control system on three rail lines on São Paulo's metro system.
The three lines include the 35km 20-station Line 8, 37km 15-station Line 10 and 37km 12-station Line 11.
The company, which leads the consortium with a 60% stake, will supply its Sirius Communication-Based Train Control system, related rolling stock, Westrace interlockings, point machines and LED signals for the lines.
Brazilian engineering firm Montagens e Projetos Especiais and Spanish telecoms firm Infoglobal are the other members of the consortium.
The three rail lines run 136 trains, cater to a million passengers daily and are owned and operated by Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos.
